Badonde to star in web Video SERIES on the ARTOFTECHNOLOGY.CO.UK
Comedy character Brian Badonde launches his new web-based series entitled ‘The Art of Technology.’ The series follows Badonde, Facejacker’s eccentric art critic, in his quest to learn more about how technology can enrich his already extravagant life with the help of Bing.
The first of a series of web videos launches today exclusively on theartoftechnology.co.uk. Episode one features Badonde’s visit to the London Science Museum to learn about the wonders of Babbage’s Analytical Engine, the first fully-automatic calculating machine – or as Badonde calls it “the world first search engine”. Ensuing episodes, which will appear weekly on Thursdays at 09:30am, find Badonde getting up to more mischief, including taking over an introductory computer class, learning to ride and race on a Segway vehicle Los Angeles, and virtually flying through the Manhattan skyline.
The ‘Art of Technology’ series is the next chapter for actor and comedian Kayvan Novak’s character Badonde, who rose to fame thanks to his love of discovering new and exciting things about art and sharing it with the masses. Viewers are a fly on the wall as Badonde, in his own unique style, interviews his way to discovering the art of technology.
Brian Badonde, comments: “Filming the Bart of Bechnology was in many ways a biritual bourney for me. Never before have so many people so generously allowed me to tinkle with bechnology with such freedom of expression. I hope my fans, bart critics and bart lovers from around the world will learn a lot from the series and that it helps them see the true beauty that lies at the very heart of bechnology.”
Alex Payne, head of search for Bing UK, comments: “Bing excites and inspires people to discover new things with visually rich content, and Badonde’s journey seemed the perfect way to highlight these attributes. Like Bing, Brian Badonde instantly engages with people through visuals and loves discovering new and exciting things about art. We are delighted to aid Brian on his journey and hope that through his infinite wisdom, viewers are able to truly see the art in technology.”
Episodes one and two of The Art of Technology launch today at 9.30am on theartoftechnology.co.uk. Ensuing episodes will air at the same time on Thursday 21 January and on Thursday 28 January. The trailer is now available on theartoftechnology.co.uk

DAVE Brings Back Red Dwarf!
A new series of the much loved sci-fi sitcom is currently in development according to Andrew Ellard, the Script Consultant on Red Dwarf.
He told Last Broadcast: “The latest word is that the deals are being done and – assuming UKTV get it sorted – they’ll be in a position to start prepping before the end of the year.” However, he corrected the news that came from star Craig Charles earlier in the year which announced two more series, saying the actor “didn’t confirm it, so much as mention the call he’d had most recently regarding his availability. I think it’s just one series of six episodes… right now.”
“The TV revival on Dave seems to be the new life for the show now. Just observing it, the movie seemed to end up being a case of ‘recast or don’t make it’, and right now those actors are those characters,” he said. “The film script was great, though, and I really hope it gets released one day. It was a reboot of the series – just as the novels were, a parallel universe – so most of what was great about it wouldn’t adapt easily to the TV series. But it’d make a knockout graphic novel.”

RIP Sir Norman Wisdom
Legendary Sir Norman Wisdom passed away on the 4th October 2010 at The Abbotswood Nursing Home on the Isle of Man having suffered a series of strokes over the past six months.
Having spent time in a children’s home in Deal, Kent, Wisdom ran away when he was 11 but returned to become an errand boy in a grocer’s on leaving school at 13. In 1929, he walked (by his own account) to Cardiff, Wales, where he became a cabin boy in the Merchant Navy. He also worked as a coal miner, waiter, page boy, served time in the Army, private hire car driver and night telephone operator.
While performing a comedy boxing routine in an army gym, Wisdom discovered he had a talent for entertainment and began to develop his skills as a musician and stage entertainer. Normon moved into showbiz aged 31 after leaving the Army. initially as the straight man to the magician David Nixon but soon became a star in his own right.
Norman Wisdom will be sadly missed by all and will be remembered fondly for his great contribution to British Comedy.

Campaign to show ‘Dinner for One’ on TV
8th December 2008
One of the most popular sketches amongst our Top 25 is Freddy Frinton’s cult classic, Dinner for One. It has warmth, humour and empathy, most of which are sadly lacking in contemporary comedy. It’s shown on television each New Year’s Eve in Germany, Finland, Denmark & Australia and on Christmas Eve in Sweden and Norway. Although Freddie was very much a home-grown comic hero, it’s never shown on British TV!
We’re now campaigning to get the ten minute sketch shown here, we’ve contacted controllers of BBC 1 & ITV 1 and set up a campaign group on Facebook. Have a look at the sketch, see what you think, then join our campaign. Let’s have a bit of comic heritage on the box this year and, for that matter, next year….
