Now here’s a segment from the godfather of funny commercials, Jasper Carrott. The 1950’s ads for Duet and Lyril soap towards the end, are something special; the Lyril ad might well have been a precursor to the famous scene in When Harry Met Sally. Perhaps Meg Ryan used it before her encounter in the restaurant, it would explain a lot.

Jasper never seems to go away or even get older! like the guy but his humour doesn’t always give me a spark!
